Ray Kennedy switch was Bob Paisley masterstroke Feb 9 2008 By David Prentice Liverpool Echo Ray Kennedy BOB PAISLEY had an eye for a footballer. Just how perceptive an eye, however, was never better underlined than in the case of Ray Kennedy. In July 1974, Chairman John Smith told the press that Ray Kennedy was the most expensive buy in the club?s history - then dropped the bombshell that the man who had signed him was retiring from football. But Bill Shankly was convinced he had signed a top class centre-forward. "There is no doubt Kennedy will do a good job for Liverpool," he declared. "He is big, brave and strong. Chelsea are looking to offload 13.5 million flop Florent Malouda to accomadate the arrival of Bayern Munich midfielder Frank Ribery. (The People) Malouda has failed to show any kind of form this season at Stamford Bridge and many people have speculated in recent weeks that he would be sent packing in the summer. It is now thought that Chelsea may offer 9 million plus Malouda in order to land Bayern midfielder Ribery. The French international is widely regarded as one of Europes best midfielders and Chelsea are among a whole host of clubs interested in him. I personally would love to see Ribery in the Premier League. He is a smashing player that can pick a pass from anywhere on the field and in my view would be a million times better than Malouda (well, that's not that hard!).

The end of a dream. Getafe lose out to nerves, mistakes & the absence of luck. Great comeback from Bayern Munich , but Getafe derserve to win ( my opinion) because of their play, spirit & disadvantage with 10 men. Now its for the Spanish Cup next Wednesday against Valencia.
First-timer meets long-timer in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Cup, as European newcomer Getafe face off against Bayern Munich.
While Getafe are experiencing Europe for the first time, Bayern have been there and done that, six times in fact (four European Cup/Champions League titles, one Cup Winners’ Cup title, and one UEFA Cup title). read more »
